Appearance always matters

Hi friends,

As I mentioned in the title itself, our appearance always matters. I am a traditional vaishnavaite guy. I wear srichurna, tulasi mala and I maintain sikha. I do puja i.e. sandhyavandanam everyday, morning and evening and I commonly carry my Nitya aaraadha to my perumal Vaikunta Narayana swamy perumal and Tenna ranga ponnadi with me. When I carry perumal in my bag by wrapping perumal in soft cloth and keep him in a tidy place..... When I am out of station, I take out the perumal from my bag after my sandhyavandanam, do puja to him and again pack him in my bag

One day, I kept afternoon leave for going to home town. I asked my collegue to drop at the nearest railway station which is 7 kms far from my office and took permission from the unit head for utilizing the company's bike in order to drop me in the station. My collegue and me started on the bike and in the mid way the bike stopped and is not getting started. There is just 10 mins left for the train. Still I have to travel 4 KM to reach the station. I started asking for lift to the bikers going through the same route. One bike stopped and I approached him. He said simply not to sit on his bike as he is coming from a death house. He said that by my appearance he identified me as a vaishnavaite brahmin and he stopped an auto, negotiated the auto for 50 rupees and made me go in an auto. I was surprised at that point of time that appearance is valued a lot and also as my perumal is in my bag he takes care of the things I have to get and in that way I caught the train that day..... That is why, appearance always matters....jai srimannarayana
